The city that churned out cars and trucks by the millions. The city that provided the tanks, jeeps, troop carriers and airplanes that fueled the greatest War the world had ever seen. The city that witnessed the birth of the Middle Class.
The children and grandchildren of the laborers that built this great city are waking up to a new world. A world where personal enrichment and instant gratification Trumps the truth. A world where the detritus of gluttony and greed clog our rivers, spoil our once pristine beaches and cook the firmament.
Cities are made up of more than factories and short sighted decision makers. The true essence of a city are the people. The people are a powerful force.

I believe every political movement and political party in the Detroit Metro area was present. I’m not a big believer in labels. If you have a sane approach to the future, I have an open ear. Call me a collectivist. Call me a Socialist. I don’t care. I take these pictures to show the World the human side of my city and my world. So, call me a Humanist.
I agree Kathleen. The Jimmy Cliff song is from around 1983. All these years the musicians have been spreading the word and yet those in power refuse to act. I do think that the children will have an impact. If not, then it’s time to overthrow the government and throw every lobbyist and politician that is on the take, into the Bermuda Triangle. Without a life vest.
❤️. The Marvin Gaye song is STILL relevant. What a shame.
